When you receive a dental implant, Dr. Kelly will cap it with a dental crown. It will act as the visible and functional part of your restoration. Your implant will use something called an abutment to connect it to the crown.
If you have multiple missing teeth in a row, it’s possible to use a combination of an implant and crown to secure a dental bridge. Once the implant is healed, we will place a permanent crown on top, then bond it to an artificial tooth.
Before we place any dental implants, we will need to make sure your jawbone is strong enough to provide adequate support. If your bone density is too low, we will need to look into other options or complete a bone grafting procedure.
